A wine fair at Mayfield Hotel
I attended a wine fair at Mayfield Hotel a few days ago with my friend’s invitation by chance.
It looked fancy and I have heard of the hotel many times but had neverr gotten chances to visit there, so I regarded it as a nice chance.
I don’t often drink wine, but I like it.
Wine is not so much popular among Koreans, and it’s more expensive here than in western countries.
We usually drink cheap drinks; soju(소주) is the most known one, and makgeolli(막걸리) is another one.
Somaek(소맥) is a combination of beer(맥주) and soju.
Soju and makgeolli are cheap; it’s 4-5,000 won per bottle in restaurants.
Anyway, back to the topic, the hotel was so good.

It’s the entrance of the hotel.
I felt like I was walking through the forest.

Nice way to the hotel.

They decorated the entrance with wine color.

The nice weather and nice place made me more excited.

The event hall was on the grass.

The left cans were wine! I had never seen canned wine.
I tried many different kinds of wine from the world offered by the wholesalers.

From 10,000 won ((9$)) to over 200,000 won ((190$)) bottles of wine.

We ordered BBQ(sausage, fried chicken, pieces of beef and fries) – 60,000won (55$), and bought the white wine.

We two Koreans ended up drinking 3 bottles of wine.
A famous and my favorite singer Koh Yoo jin(고유진) sang four songs, it was really nice.
He is my favorite singer! How wonderful his voice!
The hotel holds this event twice a year, both spring and fall.

We ordered this pizza by 20,000 won ((19$)), and it wasn’t bad.
After all, I bought two bottles of wine.
I will definitely attend this event again.
