Manisan(마니산) in Ganghwado(강화도)

I climbed Manisan(마니산), in Ganghwado(강화도) in South Korea, a few days ago, on a Chuseok (추석) holiday.

I don’t often climb mountains, but in this season, the weather is so good, and it attracts me to climb mountains.

There are many mountains in South Korea, you can see them everywhere you go. About 70% of our land is mountains.

And most of them are small like only 200 meters, so when you visit South Korea, try hiking! They are almost everywhere!

Each season, they have different colors.

Many Koreans like hiking, so do celebrities!  Lee Hyo Ri(이효리) and Jun Ji Hyun(전지현),  etc.

Lee Hyo Ri once said her secret of beauty is from hiking!

Manisan is only one hour away from my home( I live in Seoul), so I don’t feel any pressure.

It has entrance fees, an adult for 2,000 won(by 2018).

the routes of Manisan

Manisan has four routes and I chose the easiest and the longest way, number 2 Dangun ro(단군로)

It says it takes 1 hour 50 mins to get to the top.

On the way to Chamseongdan Altar(참성단)

Nice weather with blue sky, fresh air.

Have you ever heard of cicadas singing? There are tons of cicadas singing, a bit noisy, not too much noisy.

I almost reached to the top of the mountain, and it took approximately an hour, shorter than I expected.

But there was a staircase waiting, and I was out of breath.

Still, on the way to.

Blue sky with warm weather!

There are many farms in Ganghwa do(강화도).

Dangun is the founder of Korea, and to celebrate it, October third is a holiday for it(We call it 개천절 – foundation day of Korea)

Finally, I reached to the top, Chamseongdan Altar(참성단) , it took around one hour and twenty minutes.

Don’t get me wrong, I am not a hiker or anything, you can do it too!

You can also see the West sea(서해안).

I chose route no.1(계단로) to go down faster.

So many high stairs, I was lucky choosing route no.3 to climb up.

Anyway, If you don’t have a car, it may not be easy to get there.

If you stay in Seoul, you can try Bukhansan(북한산) or Gwanaksan(관악산). They are representative mountains in Seoul.

Or since we have so many mountains in Korea, I would like to recommend that you take a hike near the mountain around you.
